Does Black Myth: Zhong Kui have a release date?

No. Game Science has not announced a release date for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, and there is no Steam or Epic Games store page yet. At the 2025 Gamescom reveal the studio described the project as “little more than an empty folder at this stage.” As of the 15-minute gameplay trailer on 20 August 2026, no launch window has been given.

Game Science traditionally posts player updates around 20 August each year, so this date is the most likely annual news window while the game is in development.

When will the next update arrive?

No date is confirmed. Based on the studio’s track record, most Zhong Kui news has landed in August (the series’ annual report tradition) or around major industry events such as Gamescom.

Speculation: Game Science has released a major trailer every roughly-6-month interval since the reveal (Aug 2025, Feb 2026, Aug 2026). A release date reveal could plausibly accompany a future trailer — but nothing official supports that cadence yet.

Is there a demo or beta?

No demo, beta, or playtest has been announced. Be careful of scams: fake “internal testing has started” posts appear in Steam discussion boards asking players to click links or share account details. The studio communicates only through the official site and its verified channels.
